More Work, More Opportunities – HDD Operatives Wanted
With the rollout of AMP8 (2025–2030), the UK water industry is entering a major phase of investment, upgrades, and infrastructure improvement. As projects ramp up across the country, we are seeing a significant increase in workload—particularly in areas where efficient, low-impact installation methods are essential.
One area experiencing strong demand is HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling).
HDD is playing a key role in AMP8 projects, allowing critical utilities to be installed with minimal disruption to roads, communities, and the environment. As more work is delivered using trenchless techniques, the need for skilled HDD operatives continues to grow.
We are actively looking to connect with operatives who have HDD experience, including:
Drill operators and assistants
Locator / tracking specialists
Supervisors with HDD project experience
Those experienced in utility installations (water, gas, electric, telecoms) using trenchless methods
With a strong pipeline of AMP8 work ahead, there are excellent long-term opportunities for those with the right skills and experience.
